Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Mark Junge has lived most of his life in southern California where he accumulated degrees in art and microbiology with minors in chemistry and zoology. These pursuits reflect Mark's interests in both science and art which he brings together in his paintings. Mark's artist influences include painters such as Jacob van Ruisdael, Claude Lorrain and the Hudson River School artists, particularly Thomas Moran and Frederic Church.
