Judith Couture Charves is a plein air painter and member of the Ohio Plein Air Society. A New England native now living in Ohio, she draws inspiration from both regions, capturing the unique character of their landscapes through direct observation.

A retired high school art teacher, Jude studied at Radford University, bringing a strong foundation in art and a lifelong dedication to creative practice. She strives to combine realism with the expressive qualities creating works that balance structure with atmosphere. Deeply interested in perspective, she is especially drawn to compositions that guide the viewer’s eye and create a compelling sense of depth and place.

Working en plein air allows Jude to fully immerse herself in the environment, responding to changing light and conditions in real time. Her love of travel naturally complements this practice, as each new location offers fresh inspiration and the opportunity to capture fleeting moments in paint.
