Art work having an area less than 350 square inches (about 18 X 18) is scanned using a flatbed scanner. This provides the best fidelity and color accuracy. Larger art is scanned using digital photography (DSLR). This method is subject to lens and lighting effects that may impact fidelity and color accuracy.
Scans of art having glossy surfaces (acrylic resin for example) are problematic due to excessive glare and reflection. Note that these scans may contain distortions and generally will not have high enough resolution for full size printing.
